Engraved on rotating parts, three sayings are considered capable of influencing the course of future events. – “Shema Israel …” – a prayer from the first chapter of “שמע ישראל” Dvarim (6: 4-9) and commanded by the Torah (see below) – “This too shall pass” – known saying engraved on the magic ring of Solomon (see below) – “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine; …” – a quotation from the Song of Solomon (6: 3) (see below)The first of the rotating rings is engraved with the beginning of the Prayer of Shema Israel (Dvarim 6: 4-9), which is considered fundamental and conveys the very essence of the Jewish religion. “שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל ה ‘אֱלֹהֵינוּ ה’ אֶחָד” “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.”The meaning of the Shma Israel prayer is to proclaim the Oneness of the Most High (the Lord is One) and the deep faith of the Jewish people that the Creator, who is their God, will one day be recognized as the Only God of all mankind. On the second element is written a saying from the magic ring of King Solomon. “הכל עובר, גם זה יעבור” “All shall pass. This, too, shall pass” From ancient times, the ring was revered by educated people as having sacred meaning and has the ability to give its owner protection, wisdom, confidence, and even bring wealth.
